The Philadelphia Eagles needed to beat the New York Giants today. With both teams tied at 9-4, it was a must-win for the Eagles in order to make it solid that they have a spot in the playoffs and take hold of the NFC East division. But it was a nightmare to start off for Philadelphia. The New York Giants opened up to a 21-0 lead and it seemed like the Eagles' division title hopes, and even playoff hopes, could diminish before them.

But things started to come together a bit. The Eagles would score, but the New York Giants came back. Entering the fourth quarter, the lead was at 31-10 for New York. That is when the Eagles got right to business. Philadelphia scored with Vick's huge lob to Brent Celek to cut the deficit to 31-17. But they still needed to come back and they had less than seven minutes to do so.

Philly stopped Eli Manning, who was hot all game until the final minutes of regulation. Given the ball back, Michael Vick took over and went into Terminator mode. He was the Superman for Philadelphia. Vick made all the Eagles' fans bow down to him in this game, once again proving this is his town, his team. Vickadelphia. Vick followed on with big runs of more than 30 yards. Every one of them came on third down. The Giants didn't see that coming. And up at the goal-line, Vick made a dash to the left to make an easy score. This was now a ball game, as it was only 31-24.

The Eagles would go for the onside kick. Tom Coughlin warned the Giants players about the onside. David Akers kicked it to the left. The left side was where Philadelphia got most of their success. Vick always made big plays to his left. And there was going to be two more big plays coming soon. Akers botched it up to the left as Riley Cooper made an acrobatic catch to give Philly the ball.

"[Special teams coach] Bobby [April] did a great job with that," said Eagles coach Andy Reid.. "That was a surprise onside. In other words, we didn't have our hands people in there, you know our onside kick people in there."

Vick would lead the Eagles once more, making more big runs until Philly hit the red zone once again. There, Vick found Jeremy Maclin open, to the left, for a 13-yard touchdown. It was a tie ball-game. The Giants would waste time and would fail to get a score up. With twelve seconds left, the Giants were going to punt.

Right there was DeSean Jackson. Jackson fumbled the ball, but quickly picked it back up. Jackson found a small hole up the middle filled with many defenders. He made it out as if he went Indiana Jones on them. Jackson only had to beat two players. He did. He was at the one-yard line but jogged to the left side of the field to waste time. But the sideline went outraged as if Jackson would blow the whole play.

"Get your butt in the end zone," Eagles' safety Quinten Mikell said on that play.

And Jackson did just that, putting his butt in the end zone and making the Giants look like ass. Jackson showed what speed he had, which proves he is ultimately the fastest player in the league. You can try giving the nod to Chris Johnson or Devin Hester, but it's Jackson who is the real speedster.

Jackson helped win the game, but it was Vick who was the reason the Eagles were in this one in the first place.

"He just had this determined look on his face," said left guard Todd Herremans. "It's like he's saying, 'I'm about to win this game. If you want to help, you're more than welcome.'"

And it was just enough to probably give Coughlin a heart attack.

With this, the Eagles clinch the division with a 10-4 record. Vick is now the hero of Philadelphia, along with Jackson, as both continue to fuel the Eagles. By far, this is the best game I have seen Vick play. The game against the Redskins was great, too, but this proved how clutch the 30-year-old was.

"By far, this is one of the greatest comebacks of my career, being down by such a huge deficit," Vick said. "We were able to come back in a short period of time. It's outstanding. I give a lot of credit to my teammates. I have to thank God for the opportunity, but it was, by far, one of the best."

Maybe the best. This easily goes past a 41-38 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers when Vick was with the Atlanta Falcons in the 2006-07 season.

As an Eagles fan along with the Indianapolis Colts and the Oakland Raiders, you have got to love this game. It's great to be a fan of the Eagles.

"I can't name another one of these," Reid said. "This is exciting. It's a great day to be a Philadelphia writer."

Yes indeed.

Because if the Eagles continue to play strong like this, they are the true legit Super Bowl contenders, not the Atlanta Falcons. The Eagles have the weapons. They have the clutch players. DeSean Jackson and Vick continue to deliver for this team. They deliver each second, each moment, each scenario, each everything!

And they can deliver when times are tough.

Just like they did yesterday.

Now we can have a taste of more once the playoffs begin!
